We recommend to always pre-wash (and dry) your fabric the same way you intend to wash your finished garment. Overlock or zigzag raw edges before wash to avoid fraying.

5-8% shrinkage must be expected.

• Don't wash fabric in a laundry bag (!), and wash large pieces of fabric alone in the machine
• Machine wash at max 40 dg.
• When washing weighty fabrics like twill, canvas, denim and corduroy we recommend to set the machine cycle low (max 900 rpm)
• Hang to dry or lay flat
• Tumble dryer is OK for cotton, but the fabric might shrink more, and colors will probably fade
• Iron on low to medium setting

Double gauze is a Japanese cotton speciality made of two very thin layers of open weave cotton gauze, which are fastened to each other with almost invisible stitches. This special double layer composition makes the fabric opaque.
When worn and washed, air will fill the space between the two layers of fabric, resulting in a very soft and airy touch. It feels feathery light, and though it seems rather delicate, it is actually very durable, keeps prints and colors well, and doesn't pill.

The Japanese double gauze is a very versatile fabric, and can be used for both dresses, shirts, skirts, light trousers, clothing for children - or accessories like pillows, blankets etc.

nani IRO is the brand name of the renowned Japanese artist Naomi Ito, where her watercolor paintings are transformed to textiles with an innovative and pioneering approach to combining art and textile design.
The collections are made on a various base of fabric types, like double gauze, linen and linen/cotton blends.
The designs are beautifully composed with inspiration from Japanese nature and culture, added a poetic and painterly touch of comtemporary elegance.
